I'm currently listening to 'Any Questions' and realising just how far the Labour Party has to go to ensure equality of female representation. Despite that, I’m enthused that South Lakes Labour has a great deal of prominent female representation – Secretary, Members Secretary / Vice Chair, Woman’s Officer, Campaigns and Diversity Officer.
I'm going to the Women's Conference and need to know if there is anything that you want me to raise? Use either the comment section on the blog or my email (firstname.lastname@example.org
) to respond.
Also, I had said I was free to meet up on certain dates from the middle of October to early November. I've had very little response to this and I'm sure, with the benefit of hindsight, that some of this lack of response is because the dates are relatively far away - I must be one of the few people who have to organise their life months in advance to make sure that I can function properly. I've decided to use this time to ring each and every one of you during this time period to ask you about a range of things. For example:
- What would help you contribute to the life and work of our CLP?
- What issues need to be raised at either a local or national level?
- …and others that I haven't thought through yet!
So, be ready for the call! If you'd rather not hear from me, please do let me know.
