Official Statement on the Death of Jo Cox

Our first thoughts must be with Jo Cox's husband, Brendan, and her two young children who have been denied the joy of growing up with a loving mother. Jo was a brilliant MP, kind, understanding, hardworking and dedicated to the constituency she represented.

Jo was a brilliant community and charity worker, and a feisty Yorkshire-woman with a brilliant sense of humour and zest for life. Her death is a tragedy for the Labour family and our country.

South Lakes Labour has suspended all campaigning activities as a mark of respect to Jo and her family.
