Sheltered Housing Petition Update

South Lakes Labour understands that any decisions relating to the proposed cuts to sheltered housing provision in South Lakeland has been postponed until 2017.  This comes as a result of a petition organised by South Lakes Labour.

12 sheltered housing complexes in South Lakeland originally faced huge spending cuts as part of proposals by South Lakes Housing. 

Nick Cross, who organised the petition against these cuts would like to thank everyone who signed the petition and ensure them that South Lakes Labour will continue to monitor the situation

Nick said that the changes 'would have left some of the weakest and most vulnerable in our community without any support'.
