1918 was a milestone in the history of women, for the first time many women were able to vote. It was a huge step forward and the culmination of decades of campaigning and activism. To commemorate this historic moment, South Lakes Labour have put together a small display focusing on some of the many local suffragettes and suffragists.  The display is touring Libraries in South Lakes, starting in Kendal Library in May, and it will be in Windermere in July. More dates to follow.
